Training for New ePassport System Successfully Held in Madrid

The Philippine Embassy in Madrid successfully hosted the regional training for the new e-Passport Appointment and Enrolment System at Hotel Via Castellana, Madrid from 04 to 05 April 2016.

The new ePassport system training, jointly organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs – Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) and the APO Production Unit Inc., was attended by representatives from 13 Foreign Service Posts (FSPs) in Europe.

Philippine Ambassador to Spain Carlos C. Salinas welcomed over 40 participants and underscored the continuous need to improve the delivery of consular services, and at the same time to upgrade the skills and know-how of consular officers and staff to address the ever-changing technological landscape.

DFA´s representative to the training Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Wilfred  C. Santos,  commended OCA, in collaboration with APO, for the realization of the years-long passport project attuned to the growing demands of the public.

Participants were given hands-on training on the use of the enrollment and appointment modules, including the introduction of new equipment and software.

The two-day training was organized by APO Production Unit, Inc. in cooperation with DFA-OCA and the Embassy.
