The Philippine Embassy conducted onboard town hall meetings with Filipino seafarers on 22 and 23 March 2025 during their port of call in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to encourage the seafarers to vote in the forthcoming 2025 National elections.
The Embassy team briefed seafarers from the Marella Explorer and AIDAblu cruise ships on the new online voting system for the 2025 Philippine elections, including enrollment procedures and navigation of the test voting portal. They also discussed the Magna Carta of Seafarers Rights.
SBEI Chairperson Eric P. Valenzuela headed the Overseas Voting Team.
