Sentro Rizal Madrid Publishes Online Library Catalog

06 March 2020 – The Philippine Embassy has uploaded an online catalog of the resources in its Sentro Rizal library which may be accessed via the following link:

The digital indexing was made possible with the assistance of Filipino language assistants working at various Spanish elementary and high schools in Madrid through the Spanish Ministry of Education’s Auxiliares de Conversación program.

Consul Raisa Mabayo warmly welcomes the group of Auxiliares volunteers (Source: Madrid PE).

The group catalogued more than a thousand books in the Embassy’s collection, beginning in November 2019 to March 2020.

At a ceremony thanking the volunteers for their hard work, Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier remarked on the “sincere and untiring efforts to contribute something positive and lasting to the country, even when they’re living abroad.”

The volunteers also shared their experiences and fascination with some books in the Embassy’s collection, including a 100-year-old compilation of newspaper clippings mentioning of Spanish news articles that mentioned the Philippines.
