PE Madrid Organizes Presentation on Luxury Tourism in the Philippines for Upmarket Tour Operators

The Philippine Embassy in Madrid organized a presentation on high-end tourism opportunities in the Philippines for 27 luxury tour operators based in Madrid on 9 May 2018 at the Embassy. The event was held in collaboration with Be Marketing–Madrid and Venue and Concept–Dubai, tourism marketing companies that work with select clients in a myriad of endeavors, including tourism.

Deputy Chief of Mission Emmanuel R. Fernandez welcomed the participants and underscored the impact of tourism not only on the economic development of a country but also on its capacity to foster deeper people-to-people understanding and cultural appreciation. He enjoined the group to be the Embassy’s partners in ensuring that Spaniards know more about the Philippines and its countless options for tourists.

The presentation touched, among others, on logistical considerations—including distances between airport terminals in Metro Manila, flight and helicopter options from Manila to neighboring cities and provinces, road travel times—and luxury dining and lodging options and authentic tourist experiences from north to south of the country.

It was the first time that the tour operators, most of whom arrange exclusive tours for VVIPs and their families, and corporate groups for meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE), received a consolidated and comprehensive information on the latest in the upmarket tourist experience in the Philippines.
