The Philippine Embassy in Madrid in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Andorra commemorated the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Andorra through a diplomatic reception held on 19 May 2025 at the Andorra Park Hotel in Andorra la Vella.
Philippine Ambassador to Andorra, H.E. Philippe J. Lhuillier delivered the keynote remarks along with Hon. lmma Tor Faus, Foreign Minister of the Government of Andorra. Both highlighted the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and Andorra.
Hon. Xavier Espot Zamora, the Head of the Government of the Principality of Andorra graced the occasion to extend his congratulations, underscoring the importance of PH-Andorra relations.
A brief video highlighting PH-Andorra bilateral relations over the years, which was played during the program, received positive reactions from the guests which included officials from the Andorran government, business leaders, the diplomatic corps and members of the Filipino community in Andorra.
The reception also highlighted PH-Andorra cultural and artistic connection with a musical collaboration featuring three internationally-acclaimed artists who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields – Aliw Awardee and internationally award-winning Filipino baritone Cipriano De Guzman Jr.; acclaimed Andorran soprano and artistic director of Andorra Urica, Ms. Jonaina Salvador: and renowned guitarist and cultural ambassador David Sanz.
