Philippine Embassy Begins Overseas Absentee Voter (OAV) Registration on 02 November 2011

The Philippine Embassy in Madrid will conduct Overseas Absentee Voter (OAV) Registration from 02 November 2011 to 31 October 2012.

All citizens of the Philippines who intend to vote in Spain during the 2013 National Elections, born on or before 13 May 1995, and are otherwise not disqualified by law may register to vote at the Embassy or at any designated registration area.

Those who are already registered in the Philippines must register to vote as overseas absentee voters at the Embassy in order to vote in Spain in 2013.

Requirements for registration:

Personal appearance

  • Original and photocopy of valid Philippine passport
  • Original and photocopy of Residence Card
  • For dual citizens: Order of Approval or Oath of Allegiance issued by a Philippine Embassy or Consulate or the Bureau of Immigration
  • For seafarers: Seaman’s Book.

The Embassy shall be open for OAV Registration from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 1:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 6 pm, except during Philippine and other holidays which shall be announced by the Embassy on its website.
