Embassy Conducts Consular Outreach Service in Malaga, Spain

The Philippine Embassy in Madrid reached out to the Filipino community in Malaga, Spain on 19 January 2019 through its yearly Consular Outreach Service, which served around 400 applicants.

The consular outreach includes passport services, civil registration, notarial services, application for dual citizenship, consultations, assistance to nationals and other services.  The team was also complemented by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) which catered to issuance of overseas employment certificates, contract verification, OWWA membership and other services.  The Philippine Honorary Consul in Malaga also joined the group.

During the outreach, a courtesy lane was set-up to address the need of senior citizens, infants, persons with disability, pregnant women and other special cases. 

The local Filipino community organization, Federación de Asociaciones Filipinos en Andalucía (FedAfil), and other individuals and  groups were also present to lend a hand during the outreach service.

Malaga is approximately 800.4 km from Madrid and is home to about 5,000 Filipinos.
