The Philippine Embassy in Madrid organized a Christmas concert featuring original Filipino music by artists Kitchie Nadal and Bunny Liwanag, lead singer of Hemp Republic and Tropical Depression on 26 December 2019 in Madrid.

The event, dubbed “Musika, Kultura, at Pinoy Noche Buena,” sought to bring the “Filipino Christmas spirit” for the holiday season to Madrid, through the performance of Filipino music, serving traditional dishes and strengthening the sense of community for Filipinos and Spaniards.

Vice Consul Raisa Mabayo who oversees Cultural Affairs opened the event by thanking both Spanish and Filipino communities for the support given to the Embassy throughout the year. She also thanked the various volunteers who devoted their time and effort in assisting the Embassy in its events and projects.

Guests enjoyed some of Kitchie Nadal’s classic hits such as “Same Ground,” “Bulong,” and “Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,” as well as a new, unreleased single. Bunny Liwanag opened the evening with the classic “Kapayapaan,” and “Fireflies,” “Love is forever.” The two artists also sung Christmas songs for the audience.
