Madrid PE’s GAD Focal Person Chester A. Diaz met with Director General for Women of the Comunidad de Madrid Patricia Reyes Rivera on 03 February 2026 to further advance PE’s GAD programs in coordination with the City of Madrid.
The Dirección General de la Mujer or Directorate General for Women) of the Community of Madrid is the regional government body responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating policies to promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and prevent gender-based violence within the region.
The meeting was aimed at enhancing gender-based violence protection, supporting migrant worker rights, strengthening contingency planning among Filipinos and hopefully establish coordination with PE to ensure access to local resources.
Also present during the meeting were Labor Attaché Angela A. Librado-Trinidad; Ms. de la Macarena Gamir Linares, Deputy Director General for Women and Equality; Ms. del Mar Vicente Jimenez, Deputy Director General for the Prevention of Violence Against Women, Ms. Cristine Barbo and Dr. Ros Costelo of PE Madrid.
