The Philippine Embassy in Spain through the Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché headed by Col. Joseph Jeremias Cirilo C. Dator, PA (GSC), participated in a ceremonial tribute to the Macabebe Volunteer Battalion (Philippines) on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the lowering of the last Spanish flag in the Pacific territories on 05 March 2025.
The event commemorated the lowering of the Spanish flag on 17 November 1899, in Saipan, Mariana Islands, marking the end of over three centuries of Spanish colonial rule in the region.
