The Philippine Embassy in Madrid successfully concluded the month-long Philippine National Mid-Term Elections for overseas voters on 13 May 2025.
The 2025 elections marked an important milestone in the Philippine electoral system where overseas voters voted online.
For the 2025 overseas voting in Spain and Andorra, 4,856 voters, out of the total of 23,909 registered overseas voters in Spain and Andorra under the jurisdiction of the Embassy and the Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona, participated in overseas voting, showing a combined voter turnout rate of 20.3%.
In his remarks, Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier extended his appreciation to the Filipino community in Spain and Andorra for the successful conclusion of the first ever Philippine overseas online voting in Spain and Andorra.
