Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier Addresses Graduates of the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (LSE) Program

Philippine Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Philippe J. Lhuillier, was the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker during the Graduation Ceremony of the second batch of Madrid graduates of the Ateneo  LSE Program held last 03 June 2017 at Hotel  VP el Madronio in Madrid. Batch 41, composed of forty-four (44) Filipino students, received their Certificates of Participation and Attendance from Ambassador Lhuillier and Atty. Florisa Almodiel, Head of the Ateneo LSE Program in the Netherlands.

In his Keynote Address, Ambassador Lhuillier recalled how deeply involved he was with the Ateneo LSE Program in Europe, it being launched for the first time in Italy in 2008 while he was still the Philippine Ambassador there. He wholeheartedly supported the Program because he believed in giving OFWs the opportunity to upgrade their leadership and entrepreneurial skills to further widen their range of employment opportunities.

He expressed his warmest congratulations to all the graduates who invested a lot of their time and efforts in completing the 6-month course.  He also extended his appreciation to the various resource persons and facilitators who unselfishly shared their knowledge, time, and expertise to the graduates.

In closing, Ambassador Lhuillier emphasized that while the certificates they received were concrete proofs of their completion of the course, the next proofs of concretizing their achievements would be entirely up to themselves – either by making their business plans work, or seeing to it that their existing businesses flourish. He assured the graduates that the Philippine Embassy will always be there to support OFWs in Spain in all their undertakings.
