The Philippine Embassy in Madrid, in cooperation with Casa Asia, presented “Love Letters”, on 27 April 2011, in celebration of the “La Noche de los Libros” (Night of the Books) in Madrid.

Love Letters featured talented Filipino artists – Ms. Lobregat Balaguer, Filipino-Spanish poet and writer;  Ms. Kaz Castillo, a young Filipina writer from Los Angeles; and Mr. Yason Banal, a film professor from the University of the Philippines.

Ms. Balaguer did a dramatic reading in Spanish of her poems from her latest  book entitled TenNet,  with Ms. Castillo reading the same in  English.

In keeping with the theme of the activity, Mr. Banal presented five (5) short experimental films dedicated to his close friend and well known Filipino film critic, Alexis Tioseco, who was tragically killed in 2009 in Manila.
