In celebration of the month of Overseas Filipinos and International Migrants Day in December, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2013 Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards are now open.
The MAM Awards, conceived in 2011, recognize the positive and significant contributions of media outlets, institutions and practitioners in the fields of print, radio, movie and television, advertising and internet, based in the Philippines or abroad, whose works have raised awareness on issues on Filipino migration and / or advocated and promoted a positive image of Filipinos overseas.
The categories are as follows:
1.- Print Journalism Award – best magazine, newspaper, feature article or essay, book
2.- Radio Journalism Award – best radio program
3.- Television Journalism Award – best talk show, investigative journalism, TV special or documentary
4.- Film Media Award – best full length film or documentary
5.- Interactive Media Award – best website, blog or web-based publications
6.- Advertisement Award – best print, radio or TV commercial / advertisement.
Interested parties may download the nomination form and obtain more information on the MAM Awards from the CFO website www.cfo.gov.ph.
The deadline for submission of nominations is 30 September 2013 and nominations may be submitted directly to the following:

Results will be released by 15 November 2013 and the awarding ceremony will be held in December during the annual celebration of the International Migrants Day in the Philippines.
